Finding Support for Your Child?
This 90 minutes sessions provides a space for parents to share any concerns, observations, or questions about their child, while also allowing the psychologist to gain a clearer picture of how the child is functioning across different areas—such as emotions, behaviour, attention, social interaction, and development.
This is not a diagnostic assessment, but a first step in gaining clarity. The session helps to identify any areas that may need attention, recognise the child’s strengths, and explore possible underlying concerns (e.g., emotional difficulties, attention challenges, or developmental differences).
FAQs

We offer a range of psychological support services, including Well-being Check-Ins, Pre-Consultations for Assessment, Children’s Well-being & Developmental Consultations, and Psychological Assessments.
I’m not sure what service I need. Where should I start?
If you’re unsure where to begin, we recommend starting with a Well-being Check-In. This is a supportive session that helps you better understand how you’re doing and guides you toward the most appropriate next steps.
If you have specific concerns related to conditions such as ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, or other mental health difficulties, a Pre-Consultation may be more suitable.
What is a Well-being Check-In?
A Well-being Check-In is a supportive session with a clinical psychologist to help you better understand how you’re feeling, identify areas that may need support, and gain guidance on your next steps.
It is not a diagnostic session, but a space to reflect on your emotional and mental well-being, explore concerns, and receive personalised recommendations.
Who can benefit from a Psychological Assessment?
Psychological assessments may be helpful for individuals experiencing:
Attention or concentration difficulties
Emotional or behavioural concerns
Learning or developmental challenges
Ongoing mental health difficulties
Concerns related to ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, and more
How long are the sessions?
Session duration may vary depending on the type of service:
Well-being Check-In: approximately 50 minutes
Pre-Consultation: approximately 50–60 minutes
Children’s Well-being & Developmental Consultation: approximately 90 minutes
Assessment timelines vary depending on the type and scope of the assessment.
What happens after the session or assessment?
The psychologist will discuss relevant observations, findings, and recommendations with you. Depending on your needs, recommendations may include:
Strategies and coping support
Further assessment
Therapy or intervention
School or workplace accommodations
Additional support services
Who is the Well-being Check-In suitable for?
This service may be helpful if you:
Feel stressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted
Are unsure what you are experiencing
Want a safe space to talk and reflect
Would like guidance and support, but are not looking for a diagnosis
What is a Pre-Consultation for Assessment?
A Pre-Consultation is a structured session designed for individuals with specific concerns (e.g., ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression) to better understand what may be going on and determine whether further assessment is needed.
The session helps clarify concerns, identify possible areas of difficulty, and guide you toward the most appropriate next steps.
Why is a Pre-Consultation required before assessment?
The Pre-Consultation helps ensure that:
The most suitable assessment is selected
Your concerns are clearly understood
Appropriate recommendations and expectations are discussed before proceeding
What happens during a session or assessment?
Depending on the service, sessions may include:
Guided conversation and exploration of concerns
Brief questionnaires or standardised measures
Clinical interviews
Observation or behavioural interaction (where relevant)
Recommendations and discussion of next steps
The psychologist will guide you through the process in a supportive and confidential manner.
Are sessions available online or in-person?
Adult services are generally available both online and in-person. Child consultations and assessments are typically conducted in-person to allow for observation and interaction.
For psychological assessments, some parts of the assessment process may be conducted online; however, certain sessions are required to be completed in person to ensure accurate observation and administration of assessment measures.
Please contact us for the latest availability and arrangements.
What if I am facing financial difficulties?
We believe mental health support should be accessible to everyone. If you are facing financial challenges, please contact us to discuss available support options or subsidy programmes.
What is a Children’s Well-being & Developmental Consultation?
A Children’s Well-being & Developmental Consultation is a supportive session designed to help parents better understand their child’s emotional, behavioural, and developmental well-being.
The session includes guided conversations with parents and, where appropriate, gentle interaction and observation of the child to gain a clearer understanding of their needs and functioning.
This consultation is not a diagnostic assessment, but a first step in exploring concerns and determining whether further support or assessment may be helpful.
Who is the Children’s Consultation suitable for?
This service may be helpful for parents who:
Have concerns about their child’s emotions, behaviour, or development
Want to better understand their child’s needs
Are considering further assessment (e.g., ADHD, ASD, learning concerns)
What is a Psychological Assessment?
A Psychological Assessment is a structured process conducted by a clinical psychologist to better understand emotional, behavioural, cognitive, or developmental concerns.
The process may involve interviews, questionnaires, observations, and standardised measures to provide a clearer understanding of your concerns and, where appropriate, a formal diagnosis.
Is this a diagnostic service?
Well-being Check-Ins and Consultations are not diagnostic sessions. They are designed to provide support, insight, and guidance.
Formal diagnosis may only be provided through a Psychological Assessment where appropriate.
Will my information be kept confidential?
Yes. All sessions and information shared are kept strictly confidential in accordance with professional ethical standards and privacy regulations.
Will I receive a report?
Psychological assessment reports are provided based on individual needs and requests. The type, scope, and pricing of the report may vary depending on the purpose of the assessment and will be discussed during the Pre-Consultation.
